Improved Partitioned Queue Scheduling in Multiprocessor Soft Real Time Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Multiprocessor scheduling in real time systems follows global queue and partitioned queue methods. Partitioned queue scheduling technique organised with dedicated queues and tasks are scheduled to corresponding processor, based on Earliest Deadline First (EDF) algorithm. EDF is an optimal technique to schedule aperiodic, periodic and sporadic tasks in Real Time Systems (RTS). Deadline of the task is a major objective of EDF and resource maintenances are negligible. It increases task migration and switching between jobs to achieve the need. Context switching reduces the system quality of services and also increases overhead. In our paper we propose D-EDF (Desirable EDF) technique with ‘claim ‘ value μ(t), which schedules aperiodic tasks feasibly, as well as reducing the context switching and improving the efficiency of system performance apart from reducing overheads.

A Multiprocessor System with Non-Preemptive Earliest-Deadline-First Scheduling Policy: A Performability Study
This paper introduces an analytical method for approximating the performability of a firm realtime system modeled by a multi-server queue. The service discipline in the queue is earliestdeadline- first (EDF), which is an optimal scheduling algorithm. Real-time jobs with exponentially distributed relative deadlines arrive according to a Poisson process. All jobs have deadlines until the end of s...

In this paper, we propose a novel semipartitioning approach with an online choice of two approximation algorithms, Greedy and Load-Balancing, to schedule periodic soft real-time tasks in homogeneous multiprocessor systems. Our objective is to enhance the QoS by minimizing the deadline misses and maximizing the total reward or benefit obtained by completed tasks in minimum response time. Many re...

In this paper, we study the problem of energyminimization whenmapping streaming applications with throughput constraints to homogeneous multiprocessor systems in which voltage and frequency scaling is supported with a discrete set of operating voltage/frequency modes. We propose a soft real-time semi-partitioned scheduling algorithm which allows an even distribution of the utilization of tasks ...

First, in the past few years, multiprocessor and multicore platforms have become standard in de...
